Privacy Policy
This site is operated by Aston Joe UK LTD (“we”, “us”). We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site, and this policy explains exactly what that is.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form. When you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, optional company or artist name, enquiry type and message you provide. This is delivered to us as an email so we can reply to you. It is not stored in a database on this site and is not used for marketing.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. You can read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/privacy, and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
We do not sell your data, run advertising on this site, or share your information with third parties except as described above.
Third-party services
The newsletter itself is hosted on Patreon; if you subscribe there, Patreon's own privacy policy applies. Links to X and LinkedIn take you to those platforms, which have their own policies. This site is served via Cloudflare, which processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages live in our email inbox for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and are then deleted in the normal course of inbox housekeeping. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or erasure of that data.
- Object to or request restriction of processing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we've handled your data improperly.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@astonjoe.com.
Terms of Use
The site and the newsletter
astonjoe.com is the home of Track Record and Beyond the Headliners, newsletters about music and the music business. Everything published is editorial opinion and analysis based on publicly available data. It is commentary, not professional, financial or investment advice, and industry figures quoted (such as streaming rates and revenue estimates) are informed estimates unless stated otherwise.
Editorial independence
Track Record does not accept payment for reviews or editorial coverage. Any commercial relationship, whether sponsorship, consulting or event attendance, is clearly disclosed in the relevant issue.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content on this site, including text, branding and design, belongs to Aston Joe UK LTD. You're welcome to quote or share it with attribution and a link; wholesale reproduction requires permission. Third-party trademarks (chart brands, streaming platforms, artists) belong to their respective owners and are referenced for commentary only.
Submissions
If you submit music or material for editorial consideration via the contact form, you confirm you have the right to share it. Submission does not guarantee coverage, and no payment is accepted or implied in either direction.
Liability
The site is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aston Joe UK LTD is not liable for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We may update this page from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
